ECID "Economy Size goDD Costume"

Price: $11.00

Economy Size goDD Costume, The follow-up to Ecid's 2006 smash solo debut "Biograffiti" aswell as the mind boggling collaborative effort "Saturday Morning Soundtrack" is hands down the best effort to date from an MC/Producer whom if all goes correct will soon be one of indie-hiphop's most celebrated artists.

Economy Size goDD Costume, a metaphore about how people use religion, work, life, & hardship as an excuse or crutch. Was recorded during an over welmingly tumultuous 6-8 month period shows Ecid at his most honest, angry, mature & somewhat reflective. Focusing less on rhyme patterns and more on what he had to say, painting a picture v.s. writing a script. On the beat side Ecid built off the dark raw sound of Saturday Morning Soundtrack, but instead of going mid-tempo & eerie. the beats are for the most part much more up-tempo, groovier, & accomplished. Ecid attributes his new sound to years of progression, a relentless nack for diggin for organic, interesting samples & a new found re-dedication to lyricism(which to many is a dead concept)

Songs like "Crook Cologne" which is a song nay saying nay sayers and the sarcastic but true"What Are You Gonna Be For Halloween" are good references to figuring out what the crazy album title really means. One is a bold, fuck you to whom ever might be listening & the other is an imaginative look at what it would be like to pose as someone totally different than yourself & try to pull it off(which many people fail at). The album also touches on huge array of topics ranging from drug abuse, the purpose of men & women, the end of this planet, the death of hero's, acceptance, the future, plane crashes, relationships, expectations, suicide, losing it, vacations, marriage, love, hate, & how to make a million dollars.

With what feels like his career defiining release The Fill In The Breaks posterchild hopes this album can help him break through the huge sea of indie-rappers & producers the last decade has spawned. In turn opening the door for Ecid & Fill In The Breaks to become one of the premier indie-hiphop labels in existence. In late 2007 & 2008 Ecid is will be touring like a Robot with likes of Awol One Of The Shapeshifters, Capaciti, Span Phly, Arsenic, & the open road. Aswell as slanging cd's hand to hand like he's been doing for the past 7 years. So check out this new album, you might just relate.
